i do agree that they will live to regret saying tloas tanked but this feels different. it’s more than them saying she’s a bad writer they’re trying to make the album into being some kind of secret political statement that contrasts everything she’s ever said

the song is about the masks we wear and i’m sure taylor felt crazy at first trying to blend into that like hypebeast sports podcast guy football scene.

it’s actually a very emotionally layered track 5 that speaks onto a larger issue that can’t be denied, this new level of apathy surrounding us.

i don’t take the “and we looked fire” line in eldest daughter as taylor just using the word fire casually, she’s saying we looked fire because that was and still is the thing to be. it’s a matter of fact statement, you have to look fire, you feel a need to be hot and unbothered by it all-
