Thank you for being here. I share nature, art, and glimpses into the wilds of imagination—shaped by chronic illness, sight and hearing loss. I may not always reply, but I read every word with gratitude. This is a space for stillness, wonder, and quiet connection. #CreativeResilience #NatureArt
Today’s reading from the Fairy House — a Fairy Purse.
A story of silver seed purses, small blessings, and what we choose to carry forward.
Read softly, where fairy light glimmers even by day.

Nature’s Advent Calendar continues to open, one small wonder at a time. Today it’s a fairy purse, full of seed money! Made from the silvery seed pods of Honesty (Lunaria) — tiny purses with silver linings, gathered from the wild world and tucked into my fairytale. #WildFairytale #ClothOfNature #Art

‘Chris-mouse Carols’ - ancient and modern… by fairy light and candle glow.
In this fairytale world, carols rise bright as moonbeams, lifting like lantern light into the dark winter night.

A reading from the Fairy House this evening — today it’s Hazel’s House from Nature’s Advent Calendar.

A festive feast is laid for visiting friends, though Hazel herself is fast asleep in her nest of leaves. A story of welcome, generosity and winter kindness, shared from this small, enchanted space.

An invitation from Doreen Dormouse, delivered from the pages of Nature’s Advent Calendar.
Acorn cappuccino, wild strawberry tea and woodland nibbles are set out, while our sleepy hostess dreams in her nest of leaves — a quiet winter welcome from our wild fairytale world #WildFairytale #ClothOfNature

Finding these plants still flowering in the sheltered folds of our land felt like discovering quiet winter miracles
Today’s Advent offering grew from that joy: a thimble-full of wildflowers, shared with love and a nod to those who celebrate our wild plants all year round

A Teasel Christmas tree, alighted by a Holly Blue Fairy.
Seed heads, lichen and meadow flowers gathered with care for ‘Nature’s Advent Calendar’, unfolding day by day.
A reminder that light doesn’t always come from wires and switches, but from attention, devotion, and the stories we choose to carry

A candlelit reading from my studio this evening — today the Columbine Fairy steps out from the pages of Nature’s Advent Calendar.
These quiet moments feel like winter lanterns, and I’m delighted to share them day by day through December.
If the story calls to you too, you’ll find more info in my bio

I stepped out into the wild weather seeking Advent treasure — and in the quiet heart of an old copse found Red Campion in flower. Too precious to pick, her winter miracle remains shining. Re-imagined here with silk petals, seed heads and burnished leaves. A creative whisper of the wild #WinterMagic

I’ve been away with the fairies these past few days… borrowed by their bright mischief and winter magic. They insist I return their energy with rest, so I’m a little behind on replies. But I’m fluttering back now, catching up slowly, gratefully, and with a pocket full of wildflower light.

A candlelit moment from my studio — tonight’s reading is the Beech Tree Fairy from Nature’s Advent Calendar, a wild fairytale for winter.
I’ll be sharing a little of the story each day through December, for anyone who’d like to wander with me.

A miniature Christmas garland, strung with campion seed heads and shell beads, all threaded on willow-herb fibre.
A tiny herb robert seed-head — ‘grannie’s needle’ — holds the thread.
A tiny natural element, re-imagined creatively, can carry a little wild magic into the everyday world. #WildMagic

Tonight’s Advent treasure ~ leaf lace, shaped by winter’s slow alchemy.
Rain, frost and microbial life soften the leaf away, leaving only its fine-veined skeleton.
In nature, these miraculous transformations happen all the time — reminding us that even in fading, another layer of wonder is revealed.

This evening’s Advent treasure is a Comma Butterfly Fairy, resting on a curl of hop vine — the plant her young depend upon.
I love how butterflies carry their stories in partnership with the plants that raise them.
A touch of true magic from the wild world meeting the soft magic of fairytale. #Fairy

The first day of my Nature-inspired Advent Calendar…
tiny candlesnuff candles, each held in a campion seed-head candlestick.
Candlesnuff fungus (Xylaria hypoxylon) is said to be bioluminescent — lit by the light of the moon, no matches required.
A quiet start, glowing softly at winter’s threshold.

There’s something enchanting about fungi — rising quietly from hidden realms with old magic in their names. Yesterday’s candle-snuff find reminded me of the tiny tapers in my wild fairytale… a whisper to welcome more wonder into December. #WildWonder #Fairytale

Daylight is snuffed out far too soon at this time of year…
So it made me smile to find candle snuff fungi standing in my path this afternoon — tiny winter sentinels said to glow faintly in the dark.
A small reminder that even when the light dips early, something quiet is still shining. #WildWonder

A tiny posy of wildflowers — campion, yarrow and strawberry — gathered into a little vase fashioned from a poppy seed head.
Shining a small wildflower light into my studio… so precious at this time of year.

Rainy November days can dampen the spirit, can’t they?
I’m missing Jack Frost and his spiky, sparkling ways, but until he returns, here are a few wild fairytale words to help lift the clouds.
Reading from Nature’s Advent Calendar on the fairy house doorstep, casting a little winter magic in the air.
November 22, 2025 at 2:57 PM
At first light, I stepped into the fairy house and found that Jack Frost had been tapping on the windows overnight.
Perhaps he stopped by for news of our wild fairytale… he missed the fairies, so left his frosted messages shimmering across the panes.
A little winter magic for you.
