you will find me being here uncomfortable.”
It’s said simply. Blunt and almost tired. But he does at least shift further away— Slowly inching toward the seats of the car so that he could at least be as far away as he can so that there was at least some semblance of privacy.

together as he slowly forced himself to relax again. Blade didn’t need a reason to possibly lash out right now— Not when he was trying to get him fed, to ease Welt’s concern and, admittedly, a twinge of his own.

Dan Heng knew that he could take advantage of the distraction— Knew that, because of their shared history, it would probably even be justified to retaliate in some kind of way. To lash out against the older with the intent to hurt like Blade’s done to him over the years.

But he didn’t.

He couldn’t exactly relax. Not yet. Reaching out, he gently nudged the food just a bit closer; lips pressed together as he glanced to the slowly cooling noodles inside, then easily taking one, full and proper, step back for +

Not among the Nameless.
Really, it’s only Mr. Yang and himself— Ever since he was left here with them, the roles to keep an eye on the other man had quietly fallen to the two of them, if not mostly the older man just to keep the Express’ Guard safe.

Even then, it’s only been recently where he’s +

He's not sure what's irritating him more; the fact that Dan Heng is giving him that knowing look, the fact that he's being lectured or the fact that he's being monitored and reported among the Nameless.

Either way, he's more uncomfortable now than he was earlier.

As much as he wants to simply~

He continues to stare him down, unwilling to budge.

The comment on the dish itself and its apparent inedible state to anyone else does make his gaze drift to the bowl, eyes narrowing in a mix of suspicion and curiosity now.

"...a mistake on your part then." He gruffs. "...why are you forcing this~

Once again, Blade’s reaction was met with a steady gaze— And another small, vague shift if his weight from one foot to the other, fingers twitching around his bicep with that usual urge to reach for something- anything- whenever he had that intense stare on him.

“No one else will be able to eat this anyways.”

The threat makes Blade's body go rigid, his head snapping sharply to face Dan Heng with a scowl, a frustrated growl rolling up his throat.

It's bad enough that he's in this situation to begin with, but to be so casually reminded that he has no freedom here by HIM of all people? It's infuriating.~

"How unfortunate for you..."

Blade isn't budging, rooted in place as though he were welded there against the wall, unable to move even if he wanted to (which he did not).

Pauses— Hands patting at his pockets a moment before pulling out a wooden case to place it down next to the bowl. Chopsticks. For whenever Blade comes to take the food.

While that may be, it isn’t exactly like the Vidyadhara feels much better about their arrangement, despite having agreed and vouched for him like he did. Even if he himself isn’t cornered, it didn’t mean they weren’t unfortunately in the same situation.
