The fight for justice, accountability, and the full liberation of Palestine continues. For now, we pause to hold space for Palestinian joy as they see themselves coming out of the past two years of horrible suffering, and to mourn the hundreds of thousands who have been killed by Israel. /end

Israel and the United States must be held accountable for their crimes and the genocide they have carried out in Gaza. We cannot accept a world where such actions are met with impunity.

At CODEPINK, we have always maintained that there can be no true peace without justice. We state clearly: a ceasefire without accountability and reparations is complicity.

Most people now understand that the U.S. and Israel are imperial powers that will always advocate for the repression of the Palestinian people and their homeland. We must fight back against any agenda that seeks to strip Palestinians of their autonomy.

We hope that this ceasefire is not just a tactical pause, forced upon Israel by international pressure, but a genuine step toward peace. The whole world is still watching.

Time and again, Israel rejected these offers, choosing the path of continued violence over diplomacy. They have consistently acted in bad faith and rejected the very concessions they claimed to want, and instead, have continued a campaign of ethnic cleansing.

However, we remain cautious. For nearly two years, Hamas repeatedly offered deals to release all hostages in exchange for a lasting peace and full Israeli withdrawal.

We join our brave brothers and sisters in Gaza in celebrating the announcement of a ceasefire. After unimaginable suffering and loss, we hope they soon see a true and lasting reprieve.

These past two years consisted of Israel’s relentless demolishment of Gaza, with nearly all infrastructure destroyed, an intentional systemic famine, and hundreds of thousands killed.

Hope For a Lasting Reprieve: CODEPINK Celebrates Ceasefire Agreement

On October 8th, 2025, exactly two years since Israel’s genocidal aggression began in the Gaza Strip, a seemingly permanent ceasefire agreement was announced to the world by U.S. President Donald Trump.

We visited Senator Tom Cotton’s office to correct his false claims about CODEPINK and to demand an apology. The veteran who spoke out against genocide in Gaza acted on conscience, not on anyone’s payroll.

We join our brave brothers & sisters in Gaza in celebrating the news of a ceasefire. We hope they soon see reprieve.

We urge the US & Israel to uphold their commitments to the safety and peace of Gaza and its people.

We will keep fighting for the full liberation of Palestine. 💗

NOW: The Senate just voted 48–51 AGAINST the War Powers Resolution to end Trump’s attacks on Venezuela.

Once again, Congress chose war over diplomacy. Even after years of failed interventions and deadly sanctions, they refuse to stop Trump’s reckless escalations.

NOW: A retired U.S. veteran has just been removed from a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing after standing up to demand the Senate stops funding Israel's genocide.

"I demand that you stop lying to the American people!"

The release of U.S. citizens from the Global Sumud Flotilla is good news but 10,000 Palestinians remain imprisoned. The U.S. government ignored families, abandoned its own citizens, and continues to arm genocide.

We’re back in Congress with families of flotilla participants to demand answers.

This morning we got good news: most of our friends from the Global Sumud Flotilla have been released. But why does it take this much courage, this much loss, for Congress to listen to us? Two years of genocide. No excuses left.

UPDATE: Our friends Adnaan & Tor Stumo, along with many other flotilla participants from the US, have been released from Israeli detention.

Their bravery reminds us that no blockade and no prison can deter our solidarity.

The siege on Gaza will fall & Palestine will be free! 💗
