The worst part is that this is not a tech company, it's an outsourcing company for tech companies being managed/marketed as a tech company. Yeah, third world exploitation is now tech apparently. It doesn't help that we work for an AI company who's been very open with replacing us in the future.

If I quit, instead of waiting to be terminated, my severance pay will be higher than if I let them terminate my contract with a made up excuse like most tech companies do. But at the same time, there's a chance I can save my position, but it will be a gamble at this point.

For context: the company I work for, instead of paying a normal base salary for a bilingual position, they split it into a small base salary and a huge bonus to avoid giving a fair severance pay when they lay-off people.

I'm going to take a short break from streaming until Saturday. I now have to prepare for potential lay-offs at my workplace, and there's a high chance I'm on the list. I want to evaluate if it's worth staying until the end or not, which also means risking part of my severance pay 😮‍💨
