This game is fantastic, when it comes to atmosphere... One of the most memorable one for sure. There is something special about it that other games couldn't really achieve. Very strong start by Arkane Studios!

Definitely an inspiration for me.

In 2024 my mother's health rapidly deteriorated and she passed at the end of that year. I haven't worked on my projects since.

Recently @fideldestro.bsky.social encouraged me to start developing again. I forgot how much I love creating.

Little bit inactive recently, have to pull my personal life together a little bit. Some big changes, to the right direction!

Then continuing the development. I'm glad #Godot 4.6 stable is out.

Btw, anyone knows how to nicely work with my own animations and Mixamo's?

Looks fine...ish. But far from great. But a good start. The animation speed I entered for somewhat in sync with the steps is so random. Or I believe!

Climbing up and down, running from that monster! It climbed after me!

#CachyOS installed!
So far, loving it! Using it with KDE Plasma. Winslop customization is ridiculously limited compared to this. Also butter smooth, nice looking system. I have a lot to test for sure. Windows is many steps behind in some features. It's up to the devs to support #Linux.

What method do you use for ladders?

I have a few ideas, but I'm curious. I definitely won't go with the Source-like solution, that is just way too simple. Something more elegant is needed.

Next challenge is ledge grab for my game. Also tried some environment art, through I need many assets to make it varied and interesting. #gamedev
Also gonna record some motions, trying to rotoscope them.

It actually has a low frame rate intentionally. It uses vertex animation (through shader), texture is scrolling... particle effects are not interpolated. Gives some old school look and has a halo effect on it.

Testing a few things here:
-Raycast audio addon which is pretty nice.
-Some basic physics.
-I tweaked some of the Mixamo animations that made the character lean forward and could potentially make the camera end up within the walls. The camera is attached to the head bone.

Low poly placeholder character model in #Godot
And the test level. New features to be added. Walking around and jumping is boring. Climbing, combat, that's where the fun begins!

Small progress with my #Godot project. Added crouching. The Mixamo animations don't play perfectly well with my character model, legs are arms are a bit spread still, couldn't figure out how to offset them.
