Recognizing the gap in the literature involving sex and gender differences and stroke outcomes, Dr. Pilote and her team reported, "the significant impact of biological sex and gender-related social determinants on post stroke disability and quality of life."

Today, we are putting a #researchspotlight on a recent article from COGS Co-Vice President Dr. Louise Pilote and her colleagues, Dr. Yusheng Zhou, Dr. Teresa Gisinger, Simon D. Lindner, Dr. Valeria Raparelli, Dr. Colleen M. Norris, and Dr. Alexandra Kautzky-Willer.
