My book Daughters of the King is one year old today. It is about how women have often risen above their normal roles and, by doing so, have changed history. Most of the stories in the Bible are about men, but the stories of these women are placed in key places.

Today, when a Canadian delegation tried to enter the West Bank and had received clearance before they went, they were denied entry. Israel does not want them to see what is happening in the West Bank. It makes you question what is happening there.

Today, when a Canadian delegation tried to enter the West Bank and had received clearance before they went, they were denied entry. Israel does not want them to see what is happening in the West Bank. It makes you question what is happening there.

Imagination is a vital part of life, and without it, we are limited. There is a verse in Proverbs which says: “Where there is no vision the people get out of hand; happy are they who keep the law." (Prov. 29:18 NJB). Both vision and imagination belong in the same camp. Both see things that are not yet but should be or could be. Vision and imagination have to do with a life of faith. They help with understanding the bigger picture of life. We need to be people who can see more than what is only happening around us at this moment to help give us direction.
