Here’s a conundrum: (Applies to UK also). Jobs should go to Americans-Cut state funding for universities, colleges and training programs.
If country doesn’t fund education and training where is the innovation and engineers from?
Pre Reagan /Thatcher the country would’ve funded that training

GDP. uS $28T EU $18T. EU 3rd largest economy behind China and US. US benefits from $ being reserve currency hence allowing increased debt without higher interests. EU made up of 28 members all speaking different languages and diverse cultures.

Trump: won’t sell top end Nvidia chips because of security issues
Trump we will sell top end chips
Xi China ban on US chips
Trump: unfair

Trump: stopped us banks supporting China battery IPO on military use
Xi: ban rate earths on military use
Trump; Outrageous.
Trump one sided art of the deal

Problem with this world is the greed of the ultra rich.
Normal people are happy if they have a house and garden, good food, good healthcare, good education and a path for their kids to have a good life, good social life and 2 weeks holiday a year and a good car.
Rich want more houses , cars etc

US want a war with Venezuela. What’s another $T debt between friends?
The international community will pull their currency out of $. The rating agencies will reduce US credit rating (possibly to junk). It would be a disaster for US

I used to be a telecom project manager. Part of that job was to assess risk and mitigate. US currently reliant on AI top 6 firms, who rely on Nvidia who are solely dependant on the company who manufactures chip, Taiwan based TSMC. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night

Would Trump crash the economy if it made him and his friends $10s Billions?
December 4, 2025 at 7:14 AM
This part I don’t understand.
UK is the 2nd highest holder of US treasury bonds at $850B.
Currently the rate is £=1.33$. Let’s say the $ devalued to £=2$ does that mean US owes UK £1.2T?

How stupid is Trump and his advisors. “Let’s flip off our biggest investor Japan with Tariffs and try and extort Billions”. Crash the carry trade that Reagan probably orchestrated in 1990s
December 3, 2025 at 8:29 PM
I used to be a computer programmer, telecom project manager. For what I’ve seen the Open Source AI program is the way to go. It allows researchers , engineers etc to focus the model on specific areas. Colleges can run research grants etc. it shows P Tiel monopoly idea counter productive

Maybe I’m wrong but US greed and exceptionalism meant that their economy relies on: A factory in Taiwan (TSMC), minerals from China and Low Bond yield rates in Japan. What could go wrong?
December 1, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Japan devaluing currency must be a good thing for Japan Terrible for US.

1. Makes their exports cheaper
2. When they convert $ back to Yen they get more. So can use it to pay off a lot of their debt.
If they get inflation that’ll inflate away a lot of their debt.
US could do this

Trump: Windmills ugly kill birds.
Data centres that make noise, use up all the water, electricity of a nuke power station. Nothing?

Ok US just letting u know that the current UK min wage has just been increased to: £12.5/ hour ($16.5). I get a state pension £11,500 ($15900) per year. It’s going up 4.8% in April.
2011 I had a knee ligament replaced.My wife had multiple C-Sections, 4 weeks ago I had minor eye surgery.Total cost £0

Did a simple benchmark between DeepSeek and Gemini. I entered the following query in both

‘I want to fly to Zurich from London Luton on 15 January 2026, train on 1he 17 from Zurich to Geneva and then fly to London on 20 January’

Gemini didn’t even offer direct flights and failed miserably.

Here’s a thought: US AI relies on Nvidia chips (Amazon and Google not so much). But all the chips are being manufactured by one company in Taiwan (TSMC) And earth material refinement from China.
So unrest, earthquakes etc could kill US economy (and Europe). Where was the US govt planning over 50yr?

Epstein liked having sex with virgins. The virgins in his eyes were underage

I just watched the timeline of ChatGPT with a US suicidal teenager. It is ,by far, the worst thing I’ve ever seen and I’m 68.

I’m advising my adult kids not to use ChatGPT. If they do just for facts.

For my 14 year old I’m banning it. I’ll allow DeepSeek.
(Apparently ChatGPT remembers everything)

US AI is all hype. I questioned the urgency. First I thought it was to do with the midterm elections with Dems taking over Congress. But iI know think it’s to fool investors since they can’t cycle money between companies for ever. It’s also trying to build up momentum to push govt help

US high tech are trying to monopolies AI. Innovation comes from competition.
US made major leaps in tech, that benefitted the world, came from US vs CCCP especially the space race.
Customer rights are better served by having more than one company to choose from.
November 14, 2025 at 11:09 PM
The prob with US is its monopoly .The country monopolised tech design, until Chinese. Instead of competing they tried to squash one of the biggest markets. If a chip is designed to compete with Nvidia, they get bought out. FB buy any competition. Apple/Boeing changed from engineering focus to finance
November 13, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Have AI designers/developers fell for the Matrix. Where AI ppl work in AI companies , drive AI cars, love AI partners, buy AI food, go to AI bars and restaurants, buy stuff with digital coins etc
November 13, 2025 at 8:00 PM
To me this whole AI spend reminds me of USA/Soviet Union race to land a man on the moon. But now it’s to dominate market ahead of the Chinese . It’s not well planned. Example data centres won’t need zillions of Nvidia chips. They only need enough to fulfil current demand and to allow applications dev
November 13, 2025 at 7:49 PM
Data centres to use existing electricity infrastructure and water usage proves they’re only interested in new big build projects.
They could use heat pumps to vent the heat and provide air con .
They should be deploying aircraft/submarine type small nuclear generators for energy. Major costs/plan
