Don't mind me taking a moment to be a proud dad here.
Trocheck. 5-3, Rangers.

Looks like Laf got a piece of that Panarin shot on the way in, and it's No. 100 for him -- and a 4-3 lead for the Rangers.
December 24, 2025 at 2:16 AM
Looks like the Rangers have flipped Brodzinski and Cuylle - playing Cuylle with Laba and Raddysh. And Raddysh just scored his second goal of the game, to tie it. 3-3.

Ovechkin sent off for cross-checking Othmann, and #NYR get a power play 2:23 into the third, down 3-2.

Wicked glove save by Logan Thompson on Panarin slot shot to preserve the Caps lead.

End 2, 3-2 WSH (Carlson, Strome, PP, Protas for WSH, Cuylle, PP, for #NYR in the second period). SOG 22-10, WSH (16-5 in the second). Rangers 1/3 on the PP, WSH 1/2. Per Natural Stat Trick, scoring chances were 14-5, and HD chances 5-3, WSH in the second. Panarin (14:33) leads in TOI.

Othmann apparently getting under some people's skin. Van Riemsdyk seemed particularly annoyed with him. Lotta chatter.
December 24, 2025 at 1:35 AM
As they are announcing the Cuylle goal, Aliaksei Protas bangs in a rebound. 3-2 Caps.
December 24, 2025 at 1:27 AM
Cuylle equalizes on the power play with a backdoor tap-in on Mika's shot/pass. 2-2.
But the Rangers are going back to the power play, if that helps. Connor McMichael off for tripping.

Guess it wasn't a save after all -- the ref announces that after video review, the puck crossed the line. Good goal. And WSH leads, 2-1.
An unbelievable glove save by Igor there on a point blank shot by Dylan Strome 11 seconds into the PP. The play is under review to see if Igor got it before it actually crossed the line.

December 24, 2025 at 1:12 AM
Huge save by Igor sliding across to rob Justin Sourdif on the back door from point blank range. Penalty killed.

John Carlson equalizes for WSH 23 seconds into period 2. Stares down Igor and beats him stick side from the top of the right circle. 1-1.

The Rangers say assistant coach David Quinn will not be behind the bench for tonight’s game in Washington against the Capitals. It’s an illness. No confirmation whether it’s connected to the bug that caused Panarin, Perreault and Rempe to miss games.
