The 1936 1st edition of #agathachristie The ABC Murders. One of the classic Hercule #Poirot stories. His notable quote: "If you can induce a person to talk to you for long enough... sooner or later they will give themselves away" #goldenage #crimefiction #murdermystery #queenofcrime

The 1932 first US edition of #agathachristie Peril at End House. I love this gothic-art-deco style jacket. A quote from the book: “Poirot," I said. "I have been thinking." [ #poirot replied] "An admirable exercise my friend. Continue it.” #crimefiction #goldenage

The first time #agathachristie masterpiece "The Witness for the Prosecution" appeared in paperback was in 1956, published in the USA by Dell. There was no British paperback of this short-story as Fontana only published the play-script, not the story. #rarebooks #vintagebooks

"Remembered Death" (1st paperback, 1947, USA). This was the title #agathachristie chose for the novel, but when the UK hardback was published in 1944, the title was deemed too negative given the mounting war dead, so it was changed to 'Sparkling Cyanide'. #bookcover #crimefiction #worldwar2

One of my favourite early #agathachristie printings is the 1927 Bodley Head "Popular Edition" (2nd edtn) of "The Secret of Chimneys" because of its unique cover art only used on this version & I'm a Bundle Brent fan 🧐 #bookcover #crimefiction #blueskyreads #booklovers #bookworm #booksky
