This was the second time the St. Thomas men’s home opener was at the Minnesota Wild’s rink. And likely the last time that will happen for quite some time with the new Lee & Penny Anderson Arena opening on campus next weekend.
North Dakota defeats St. Thomas 5-2 and earns the home-and-home sweep in the first-ever series between the two. The next time the programs face off it’ll be as NCHC foes. (Unless it happens in 2026 NCAA Tournament first 🤔)

It’s fitting the Gophers snapped their 11-game shootout losing streak against Boston College at home considering the Gophers first regular season shootout was against the same team on the same ice nearly 12 years earlier
Throwback to 2013 when the Gophers men last hosted Boston College. The Oct. 25, 2013 game was officially a 3-3 tie but the Eagles won the shootout 2-1. It was the first regular season shootout the Gophers participated in. The two teams begin a two-game series tonight at Mariucci.
First 3-0 start for Miami since 2009-10 season.

If counting regulation wins only, first 3-0 start for Miami since 2007-08 (RedHawks started that season 8-0).

Two men’s hockey programs separated by 3,000 miles are celebrating 100 years: St. Lawrence and Alaska. Note that the Nanooks centennial logo is for 1925-2025 while the Saints is 1926–2026. This is due to the date each school played its first game during the 1925-26 season.
A big Sparky sticker has been added to the ASU helmet this year. Following the lead from Alaska? Could this be the start of a trend in college hockey?
