A common problem with many things. Supports of "bolder" manifestos often point to favourable polling on each item. They then assume support for the whole. That latter bit is often simply not there. The whole is more, much more, than the sum of parts.
The public want immigration of students, of health workers, of teachers, Ukrainians, Hong-Kongers, fruit pickers, tech workers, and of most other sub-categories.

Just don't tell the public the total when you add all these together, because it seems...

The parts = Good

The introduction of voter ID should indeed be seen as a cynical attempt to restrict voting in a partisan manner. #Labour have committed to automatic registration. They should either remove the ID requirements or automate those with a, freely, supplied ID at the same time.
