Have been watching a vinyl copy of Grotesque - In The Embrace of Evil on eBay for a while. The seller just messaged and offered it to me for £10. I couldn't have snapped it up any faster. Thanks to the seller. Glad to get a physical copy of this album in my collection at last

My cousin always gives me a book voucher for Christmas. My copy of Swedish Death Metal by Daniel Ekeroth just arrived today. Can't wait to get stuck into it. 456 pages of band history, flyers, stories and other musical goodness to savour.

Finally got the chance to watch the Stranger Things finale. It was everything it should have been. The kids did what needed to be done, the older kids matured and no spoilers on the ending. It's been a crazy run, I'm glad it made it to a definite ending rather than being cancelled.

This was the album that started me listening to heavier music, although I had no idea it was death metal.
I was on holiday in Greece at the start of the 90s and found a tape shop. I saw the Warhammer 40K cover and picked it up and was immediately obsessed

Listening to Hetsheads - We Hail The Possessed from 1994, a collection of their demos/promos from 1991. A mix of fast-paced songs and some slower sludgy/doom type tracks. Production is what you would expect from demo tapes and makes for some nostalgic listening, I was poised to flip the tape over.

Listening to Those Who Bring The Torture's self-titled debut album from 2011 because there isn't enough Rogga Johansson music in my life. This is the darkest music I've heard from him. More Florida death metal akin to Cannibal Corpse vocally and lyrically.
