It's exhausting being the one who does the mental heavy lifting while others show up to nod and smile. If I’m going to keep giving away my brainpower, it’s at least going to be on my terms. I’ll be in the trenches only when absolutely necessary.

Here's a thought: How about you brainstorm your way into doing some of that work next time, instead of just collecting everyone's ideas for your next PowerPoint slide?

These are the same folks who treat the follow-through like it's a distant cousin they can't quite remember. "Great session, team!" they'll say, all while quietly avoiding any actual execution.

Ah, the classic "brainstorming session enthusiast." You know the type—gather 'round for an hour of ideas, energy, and "out-of-the-box thinking." But as soon as the meeting ends? Poof! All that creative genius vanishes into the ether, never to be seen again.

I refuse to engage in a debate with someone who doesn’t have an understanding of an industry and only has limited, experimental experience. These are not the same thing. Social media professionals deserve more credit—and more compensation!

Two small but magical moments happened during today’s staff meeting. When we were asked what we’re grateful for, I excitedly said, 'my new job!' Later, during the wins and shoutouts segment, my manager gave me a shoutout, which made the moment even more special.

A well-crafted headline isn’t just a hook – it’s a roadmap for the journalist. 📰

It sets the tone, highlights the key angle, and makes it easy for them to understand exactly what your pitch is about.

#CommsTip: Write brief social content but expand and go deeper:

- On your email newsletters
- On your website copy

The best copywriters are masters of researching.

Knows their reader inside out.

They know exactly what questions to ask and to who to pour fuel over whatever fire copy they write.

Small, profitable communities are the future.

When you focus on audience - you give the power to them.

They choose if you get paid.

That's not sustainable.

Instead? Focus on community.

Audience builders try to get the most attention.

Community Builders focus on getting the right attention because the wrong people won't pay you.

If writing isn't your strength, don't market yourself as a writer. If you dislike making TikTok videos, don't offer that service.

When writing your prompt for ad copy, it’s important to consider tone and feelings.

In this context, tone refers to how your message is presented. Feelings, however, refer to how you want your audience to feel after reading it.

If an editor requests images or more information, get it done as soon as you are off the phone!!! 😭

It could mean the difference between your product being featured or not.

The first thing I always ask a journalist when I get them on the phone is, “Are you on a deadline?”

I want the journalist to know I respect them and ensure that they have sufficient time to listen to my pitch. The relationship between publicist and journalist can be a good one.
