Comox voted to incorporate as a village on December 12, 1945, and the formal confirmation was made by Order-in-Council on January 14, 1946.

After 32 years of dedication—including over 25 years of full-time service—Assistant Fire Chief Jim Lariviere retired from Comox Fire Rescue at the end of December.
