At 19 I learned I was trans, and since then I've overcome three suicide attempts, chronic alcoholism, obsessive self harm, and chain smoking
I'm 30 now. It's 2026. I wasn't supposed to still be here, all things considered.
Let's see if there's a reason I am.

At 19 I learned I was trans, and since then I've overcome three suicide attempts, chronic alcoholism, obsessive self harm, and chain smoking

Got back in the gym this morning for the first time in about a month. I dropped the weights by ten pounds across the board to account for the time off and I was still screaming and pissing and crying by the end, but it was leg day so that's to be expected.

I think one of the hardest things I've had to unlearn is that the type of connection I yearn for isn't something I need to be embarrassed about. No, I'm not weird for wanting to form close bonds with people and getting to know them intimately.

It's amazing how much my brain tries to invalidate who I am and what I feel due to my age. Part of me things I should've changed who I was as I've gotten older, but I've just become more me, and I think that's okay.
