Vintage McDonald's Super-Collector
80s & 90s Food/Drink Nostalgia

Results of my final buying trip of 2025! A park regulations sign, Cookie dispenser, Grimace plaque, breakfast menu, TWO character windowpanes, Big Mac purse, translite signs, toys, a carousel Fry Guy plus much more. The perfect ending to a banner year for my McDonald's collection!
The after shot of my updated shelf display. The Officer Big Mac plaque was too heavy to hang and this spot works perfectly. Makes a nice pairing with the two 70s NOS Tiffany-style lamps and three “Ronald Awards” (top 1% of owner/operators) that I recently acquired!

My favorite show ever is The Critic and it only had 22 episodes, so my least watched episode is still one that I know all of the lines by heart. Haha.

I may have to hold you to that one day…

I’m constantly on the hunt for leads but at this phase of my collection, I hear from a couple of folks a week asking me to come visit them. 9 of 10 aren’t a fit, but it’s still a nice pool to draw from.

They still come out with it every year, but they go years on end without changing the box design these days and it kills me. I have every design since 1987, so I hate it when they feed us retreads.

I do! Haha.

The Christmas Crunch boxes are unopened and I'll be selling them since I already have the same boxes flattened. The Pringles are all opened and I'll be storing them in the archives.

Officer Big Mac needs a home and the fit is too perfect for it to be anywhere else.
February 11, 2026 at 1:53 AM
They aren't getting thrown away, but they'll be in a box in a closet from here on out.

This really has always been my dream. Still a lot to accomplish, though.

With my McDonald’s collection rapidly expanding, I’m taking down my long-running vintage Pringles and Christmas Crunch shelf display. Sometimes the key to collecting is about making the tough decisions.

This is so great - thank you. My wife is more concerned than complimented, but she'll come along.

Skull and crossbones Captain is so f'n cool.

Yes, they're glasses, but I can easily see how you'd think it was a pair of handcuffs, particularly on the plaque.

My first McDonald's trip haul of 2026! A complete set of early 70s Alfred Gordon plaques, four rare Happy Meal translite signs, a 1971 Hawaiian shirt, a 1958 operations manual signed by Ray Kroc and a Ronald McDonald in-store sign with a VERY early depiction. What's your favorite from this batch?

You would think this is in my arena, but these goofy online-only, immediate sell-out promos have virtually zero appeal to me. Now, if a sign survives 40-50 years and I find it in someone's basement? That's what I live for!

You can't tell, but these are Blow Pop socks.
February 10, 2026 at 3:11 AM
I have over 100 pairs of socks too. When I like something, I tend to go a little overboard (in case you haven't noticed... haha).

Let's put it this way... the first time I reached out to this guy was six years ago. Haha.

That's a great idea. I'm really proud of my record collection. Plus, I have about 60 that were signed and personalized when I used to go to concerts all the time. Most of my LPs are 60s music or 80s/early 90s hip hop.
February 10, 2026 at 3:04 AM
Thank you! Yeah, I take these photos in my game room, so the record player makes a cameo in most trip haul photos. I wish I had more time to use it, though. Haha.

You should've been there for this one. The dude was... interesting. Definitely the toughest person I've ever worked with, but it was worth it to get a haul like that.
February 10, 2026 at 2:24 AM
Yeah, I need a second one so I can wear it all the time.
February 10, 2026 at 2:23 AM
The shirt is from the operators meeting in 1971. Super rare - totally love it.

My latest McDonald’s buying trip haul was completely absurd… a Professor slide topper, Hamburglar body from a swing set, Ronald & Goblins plaques, custom wall hangers based on the 90s kids chairs, 60 Xmas ornaments and best of all, tabletop statues of Captain Crook & Hamburglar!
