On this day in 1120, the White Ship sank - think Titanic, but with fewer romance subplots.

What followed?

If you are born in Conwy town, you are a Jackdaw...but what happens when you die?
I’m working on a project 'Jackdaws of Conwy'. What I thought would be a small side-quest has grown into something huge! In my research, I stumbled upon an alternative tale - one that, I have to say, I absolutely love!

A quite stylised view of Conwy Castle from 1809. I think this gives the castle a very Arthurian feel to it. I love it!

This trade token was issued by Henry Hughes in 1663, and show the Grocer's Coat of Arms.

Trade tokens are fascinating! I love them for their personal nature and diversity.

I've been a bit quiet on here recently because October was the busiest month I think I've ever had! Most of it was totally awesome with loads of history fun stuff happening. Some of it was a bit sad.
But now, things are getting back to normal!

In May 1898, Conwy had to deal with a drunken sailor...

For #MedievalMonday, I popped down to Gyffin, Conwy, to visit the beautiful St Benedict’s Church. This medieval parish church likely stands on the site of an earlier Christian place of worship.

A Lost Gem: The Demise of Parlwr Mawr

In the heart of Conwy, a building full of history was demolished in the 1950s. Parlwr Mawr, the "Great Parlour," was a magnificent townhouse dating back to the late 16th century.
