Maddie is the first doll bot in my Millennium Children project. He was designed as a base to build from and to develop and test a new jointing system.

In-universe, he is an uplifted virtual pet toy merged with a stock-model companion doll body.

Details and credits: www.tumblr.com/copperbezel/...
Maddie in purple, teal, and red varieties, copies for myself and each of my partners, who helped tremendously in this project. Purple Maddie leans forward to model an alternate femme chest. Purple Maddie suggestively embraces Red Maddie from behind to his bashful surprise. Teal Maddie removes his chest panel to reveal the virtual pet toy inside.

And your cartoon and anthro animal character designs and sculpts have progressed so much since this - it's been amazing to see! You've become so at home with it 😁

Delighted by this little mans, ever since the 1-hour sketch sculpt that he began as 😁 He's come so far...

A bit out of my usual theme, but furry arts of me in cuddly moments with each of my amazing, wonderful, supportive, talented, and hella cute partners @sappholopod.bsky.social and @likelytakanuva.bsky.social.

Tagged, but for emphasis, the pieces are sexually explicit and suggestive respectively.
@sappholopod.bsky.social‬ (as an anthro fuzzy theropod) reclines in bed and holds me (as an anthro squirrel) close to her chest with one arm, my head tucked under her chin. She smiles contentedly, I smile rather manically. Both figures are nude.

Drawn back in January and could use an update but I still really like this piece. @likelytakanuva.bsky.social‬ (as an anthro pupper) in blushy surprise as I drape over them with amorous intentions.

The scenario and poses reference a drawing of unclear origin that has circulated in meme posts and unfortunate AI chat sites, which is confusingly a redraw of another slightly less circulated image in similar circumstances. As I can't actually cite the original, I plead parody.

Really happy with these figures, modifications aside. Striking design, great posability, and a good all around feel in hand for an action figure, let alone a model kit. (Being made of ABS and POM is a cheat code, but plenty of figures made in those plastics are way less pleasant to handle.)

Gummy guitars it is, and 10% upscaled on advice from @workbenchmaniac.bsky.social . I think the color scheme really pops now.

Cheeky stage background image, to which I own no rights, is from wibiyas.blogspot.com/2012/12/rock...
Whammy and Fuzz performing on a DOMES box with their new translucent guitars. Cognitive Distortion "on stage" - by way of a cheeky monitor background image from https://wibiyas.blogspot.com/2012/12/rock-concert-stage.html Fuzz's lead guitar in closeup. Whammy's bass guitar in closeup.

I avoided modifying any of the stock parts - it was more fun to build them fresh. But there's so much measuring 😭

So I got my two copies of the Quankai Studios DOMES kit in a bit back, and decided they'd make a nice music act. It was also good practice in modeling custom parts to fit an existing kit. All the clear parts including new eyes are mine, plus Fuzz's chest and Whammy's crotch piece and the guitars.
The two modified Quankai Studio DOMES figures as my Fuzz and Whammy, holding microphones as if on stage doing a synchronized choreography, with their names and the "band name" "Cognitive Distortion" in grungy display fonts. The bass and lead guitars I modeled and printed. They're science-fiction themed with lightning-bolt-like "strings". Whammy provides vocals with a microphone while Fuzz plays his guitar. Another synchronized choreography shot in mirrored poses in closeup.

Am I doing it right?

Working on custom parts for a pair of Quankai Studios DOMES figures and had leftover prints of the chest and crotch pieces so this happened
Quankai Studios DOMES figure with custom parts including elements resembling a gold bikini.

Sadly yes, the latter....

My wife and I have one that lives between our pillows in bed and sometimes we throw him real hard into the other corner of the room for his enrichment

It's been fun, here's my scrungle too. Love the movement and how the Bandit class's skills play into it.
Sappholopod's and my characters, respectively a chunky purple kobold in a bunny suit and an orange squirrel in a green hood, mine on the left, in the starting region of the game.

Hee, thanks so much! 😁
copperbezel.bsky.social
You should give it a go! The tools to do this kind of thing have never been more accessible, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. 😁
copperbezel.bsky.social
I am just loving the shapes on this man. That's an incredibly striking silhouette, and the way you've simplified the shapes beyond even the artwork really creates the feeling that the toy itself lives in a cartoon. Delightful expression as well!
copperbezel.bsky.social
Oh gosh, that's exciting! I'll be watching! 😁
copperbezel.bsky.social
Your Transformers Toons designs are so energetic and cool! It'd be incredibly cool to see what you could unlock there with some new tools 😁

I've done SLS nylon through online services before, and that's kind of a compromise with a very durable material but a somewhat crumby texture. This resin isn't as strong as that, but it's holding up if I design around the limitations.
copperbezel.bsky.social
Yeah, I gotta recommend Anycubic's ABS-like V2 resin then, it makes such a difference. I'd been put off from trying making action figures this way for a long time because of how crumbly standard resins are, and I never tried FDM because the detail resolution was so limited.
copperbezel.bsky.social
Eee, thanks! 😁
copperbezel.bsky.social
This absolutely wouldn't work with standard resin, and it's definitely not as durable as ABS plastic, but after working out the kinks, this feels more like an action figure than a model kit and I don't really worry about breaking something just playing with them. 😁
