Pretty confused by how TRON became a big-budget movie franchise. Was it a bit hit when it came out? No. Did it become a big hit on video/TV? Also no. Do people have fond nostalgic memories of it? Eh kinda but not really. Was it secretly great and critically acclaimed? No again

thing about Kosinski is he’s an architectural filmmaker, so not only is the production design on point, he has a real understanding of movement through space, and man, this movie is just so fluid, so slick, even when the script starts to fall apart in the second half

god fucking damn this movie rules, the first hour in particular

what’s funny is Kosinski also stole from Fincher, getting Claudio Miranda right after Benjamin Button, and pulling Haygood, who edited a bunch of Fincher videos, including Vogue, and did The Game through Panic Room

but here, it works
