With more people joining Bluesky, seems like time to do another intro post.

I'm a sci-fi writer based in Naarm (Melbourne). If I'm known for anything, it's probably The Voidwitch Saga, which I call astropunk rather than space opera.

Repo Virtual is my (lost thanks to covid?) cyberpunk novel.
Book cover for Repo Virtual by Corey J. White. Behind that text is some details circuit-board-esque design work, with a firefly design nestled in there. Book cover for Killing Gravity. Features a woman floating in space in a close-fitting spacesuit against a background of a planet looming large and the stars of space behind. Book cover for Void Black Shadow, the sequel to Killing Gravity. Features a woman floating in space in a close-fitting spacesuit against a background of a planet looming large and the stars of space behind. Book cover for Static Ruin, the third and final book in the Voidwitch Saga. Features a woman floating in space in a close-fitting spacesuit against a background of a planet looming large and the stars of space behind.

Awww, that's a lovely story. Mine was simply seeing more and more posts from trans femmes on bluesky from trans femmes that spoke to me until I couldn't deny it anymore.

Yeah, I distinctly remember sitting in youth group as like a 16yo *knowing* I was queer, but being confused because I wasn't attracted to men. Then at 18 "joking" to my girlfriend that I was a lesbian trapped in a man's body. etc etc.

But I think you're right about it being partly generational too.

You're right, of course. I recognise I wasn't ready, and try to have compassion for myself, and things worked out well timing-wise for a couple of reasons, but STILL. It took me until *40*?

Yeah, exactly, agender wasn't enough, but I wasn't ready for more. And I explicitly went with agender rather than non-binary because NB still seemed like too much of a trans identity. Sometimes (basically all the time, honestly) I wish I'd let myself accept transness earlier. But, oh well.

Before that it was more like "I say I'm agender but I'm not doing anything with it and I want that to change."

I didn't immediately tell anyone via text or post about it because I wanted to tell my gfs in person first. But looking now, I can see evidence of some cracks appearing around the 12th of October, but the actual 'revelation' was probably the 20-somethingth.

Thanks!

Yeah, I worked out that masculinity wasn't for me in 2020, but spent 3 years in the agender mines, telling myself I couldn't actually be trans 😞

The actual cracking was probably a period of 2 or 3 months, but there was definitely one day where it became undeniable.

*It wasn't actually 10/10 - my partner doesn't remember me telling her because she on heavy pain meds recovering from surgery, and that was later in the month. But I'm claiming the date.

I wish I could say something more positive, but I feel like I'm in a rut transition-wise.

Today* is the 2-year anniversary of my egg cracking. Been a weird and wild two years.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. It's awful. 💜

Ooh, I love that tiny horse!

I need more tattoos too. Gonna black out my calf first though.

Might read this so I can get cuter faster.
A white hand holding a copy of Cute Accelerationism, by Amy Ireland and Maya B. Kronic. The book is small and pink, with kawaii facial features on it so the book looks like a cute little guy.

Ooh, thank you, will have a look at mongrels.

I know the Solovairs will be worth the cost 'cause they're meant to be the quality docs were decades ago, but that pricetag hurts.

Aus trans girlies (or cis girlies with larger than average feet) recommend me some boot brands. My Palladiums are almost dead, and I'd love to get a pair of their heeled ones, but they don't do them in my size. No platforms (ie demonias) because my ankles aren't cunty enough to survive those 😞
