I'm a sci-fi writer based in Naarm (Melbourne). If I'm known for anything, it's probably The Voidwitch Saga, which I call astropunk rather than space opera.

Do you think Alan Moore can smoke *constantly* and still speak & write with more eloquence than most people manage sober because:
A) he's smoking ditch weed,
B) his tolerance is just that high after years of smoking, or

The same is true for a lot of genre fic mags. As the editor you're personally doing a lot of work steering the thing and keeping it afloat, and you're publishing the best stories you can find - don't you, your authors, and their stories deserve a magazine cover that looks *good*?
I’m begging novel writers to hire an artist for their covers. At least someone who can do graphic design at a minimum. I see the worst book covers on here everyday and you’re all doing such a disservice to yourself to put in the effort to write a whole book only to turn people away with a bad cover.

The only truly irreversible thing a trans child is likely to do is take their own life. "What if they do something irreversible?" actually means "theyre not allowed to make a decision!"
You cant undo or reverse any decision you make, you can simply change your mind later and handle the consequences
