Having a pet rat pass away is so unique because the other rats seem bummed out too. They get this restlessness like they know someone's missing and it's sweet that you sort of get to be there for each other? I can't believe they put a weird little guys soul in a hamster body

Smithers and his brother Sooty as we little baby teenagers. The breeder mostly showed them so they hadn't been particularly socialized so it was a fun adventure getting them used to humans and finding out we were fun. Smithers was greedier and loved smacking Sooty out of the way for food lol

Some pics of Smithers from last night, happy as a clam. He had some Cheerios, walnut, cheese AND yoghurt yesterday (spread out through the day). We also had free roam time and then we watched tv together on the sofa 🥲

Sorry to report to everyone that Smithers the astounding old man passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. He was surrounded by all the other rat boys in bed & looked completely peaceful. Run free little man.
