They call me a Toshiki Inoue apologist but that's false because I never apologize

This is a Glenn classic. Apparently it's also an Alex classic so he put it on and I was afraid I wouldn't like it as much this time but it's still badass

which is to say less-cynical normies are more likely to hear about the superman thing and go "oh fr?" (Everyone was less cynical about these things in general I think)
coughdrop.bsky.social
well he's not superman!

normies don't care though it's fine

ALDS Tigers vs Mariners Game 5

Deserves to go in this thread because it was real cinema. Grueling, arduous, agonizing. Best game ever baby and I don't even care about either of these teams
coughdrop.bsky.social
my heart is actually pounding and i don't care about the tigers OR the mariners

(Also the posters are swapped around in that image for the purpose of the bit. Top is White Ghost and bottom is Black Ghost)

Ju-On Black Ghost and White Ghost

Black Ghost was just whatever, felt unfinished. And then White Ghost was the most viscerally upsetting movie so far. I actually wanted to cry by the end. (This is a positive review of White Ghost)

Come on it's like an anime you gotta root for the ones who surpassed you to best the real enemy (the Dodgers)

You root for the Jays

Historia de lo oculto

Fue muy bien hecho el terror tipo old school de esta película. La mejor parte de verla fue juntar las piezas del misterio gradualmente con Favio (y Cammi Belle quien no aportó porque ya la había visto)

had to change the profile pic for the occasion

The Grudge 2

Compared to the first American one this one remixed the old stuff and added new stuff enough that it was fun and interesting to watch. It does kinda peter out in a weird way and still isn't as structurally interesting as the originals

O Lord in Heaven please take all of the pain and suffering in the world and put it on New York Yankees fans

The Grudge (2004)

Probably would've been pretty decent if we hadn't seen the Japanese ones before this. It had a few neat additions but mostly it was just lukewarm Ju-On. Sometimes the subtitles would linger on screen for way too long which culminated in this really funny image

Good news it's been a week and I'm still alive so my biggest fear of watching this movie is put to rest

The Ring (1998)
I didn't want to be too scared and luckily this isn't as scary as it is unsettling. It did lose me with a few of the goofier choices but also I'm sure I would've been more scared if I didn't know anything about the movie first. It ended on a shot of today's date which freaked me out

Yeah I always warn people about it. One has to be in the right mindset for a movie that's mostly anticipation (ie not much happening lmao)
