Back from a couple of fairs with some nice US promos and a Roxy collection, bought mostly for the B-sides.

I remembered I saw the Au Pairs in the very early 80s at a benefit gig in a civic hall in E. London, so set about finding out exactly where and when. Trawling through online music papers, I finally tracked it down. It was Poplar, 8/11/80 - exactly 45 years ago! Brilliant gig, as I recall.

Scans of the legendary rock mag ZIGZAG now online. (I don’t expect many likes - you’d have to be my age or older to remember it 😁)

Richard and Linda Thompson’s 1975 tour started 50 years ago this week. Captured on this terrific CD. Anyone see them live? I caught them once, on their 1978 tour.

I think it's about six months since I last saw this mentioned on here. Does anyone have any information as to when it may be available to watch in the UK? 🙏

Scott Walker, “Rosary” live on Later, 1995. Pretty much the only live performance he gave after the 70s I think?

#np Sinatra’s worst selling LP, apparently. But my favourite of his. Incongruously penned by Bob “Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine” Gaudio and Jake “Dazed & Confused” Holmes. Rather charming dedication on the sleeve. Was only 99p in the chazza though and vinyl plays perfectly 😃

The 1977 cult ghost flick Full Circle or the Haunting of Julia starring Mia Farrow just had a rare screening at #Picturehouse cinemas. The OST by Colin Towns is a brilliant, unsettling mix of piano and synth.

These letters in NME from March 1977 are a reminder of how little known Nick Drake’s name was less than three years after his death. When did this change?

Judee Sill would have been 81 today. Sadly she never made it out of the 70s, but what a legacy. Here’s a post on her UK appearances.
