Special event station for the Amateur Radio Software Award

Special event station K5S on 20m FT8 for the Amateur Radio Software Award.

Not sure if it's the propagation or the local noise level, but I didnt hear much on SSB. Noise level is at S8, so I'm trying digital first.

We got K5S reserved for the X-mas week. I'll try to get K5S on the air between Dec. 24 and Dec. 30 as time and celebrations allow from California for the Amateur Radio Software Award. I'll notify you here when I'm on the air. 73 and see you on the air.

If tou were to build your own transmitter then you'd need to include some filtering to avoid harmonic emissions. Without filtering, the transmitter also broadcasts on other frequencies, often on multiples of your intended frequency. There the pass band filter would help, too.

... unless you have a baofeng. 😄 But these filters would be the wrong one.

Good point though. You don't need and want one unless you operate near another transmitter that causes your receiver to overload (i.e. OVF is displayed on the IC-7300).
