In Feb we submitted a proposal to be part of a programme of ‘special edition’ events hosted by the National Poetry Library. We recently learnt our submission was accepted & we have been invited to take part in an online health-themed poetry showcase on 19/11/25!

I’ve recently discovered a new creative hobby: embroidery/ cross stitch.

I bought a small cross stitch kit from hobbycraft & really enjoyed making the butterfly.

Then I was gifted some beautiful kits from cotton_clara so have moved onto these cute funghi.

Take stock, it’s a fresh start As you turn your calendar onto a new page It’s unmarked, a clean slate, with grand resolutions A change for the best, ringing in a New Age. Shedding the troubles and loss of last year Undoing the wrongs, the woes and the grief Mistakes, regrets, fears and distress all fade As we ring in the year, turn over a new leaf. We watch celebrations across the whole world, Once muted and distanced, now back to old days Crowds and fireworks, warm kisses and hugs Hoping for peace for all, this day and always. The New Year, this fresh start, it’s only in name, Those firm resolutions may not last very long With hope we must look upon each day as new And fill it with laughter, love, kindness and song.
