2023 brought culture to every corner of Europe.

In Greece, 🇬🇷 Elefsina celebrated with "Mysteries of Transition".

In 🇷🇴 Timișoara the motto was "Shine your light – Light up your city!"

And in🇭🇺 Veszprém-Balaton there were thousands of projects across 3 counties.

2022 saw three European Capitals of Culture:

🇱🇺Esch-sur-Alzette with the starring "REMIX Culture" 🎶

🇱🇹 Kaunas shown with from "Temporary to Contemporary" 🏛️

🇷🇸 Novi Sad with their programme "For New Bridges" 🌉

Each city redefined culture in its own way.

Another batch of cities for the ECOC anniversary!

Here are some highlights of what you are seeing:
In 2019 we have Matera 🇮🇹 , that opens the future, and Plovdiv 🇧🇬 that chooses Together.

2020 and Rijeka 🇭🇷 becomes the Port of Diversity, and
Galway 🇮🇪 says Let the Magic In.

2017 is marked with Aarhus 🇩🇰 saying Rethink. Pafos 🇨🇾 opens culture to the sky with its “Open Air Factory”.

In 2018, Leeuwarden 🇳🇱 builds an open community. Valletta 🇲🇹 shares Island Stories, Future Baroque & Voyages.

The 40 years of ECOC series continues, and we're in 2011.

Two capitals held the title:
Tallinn 🇪🇪 and Turku 🇫🇮.

Jump to a year after, 2012, and we're back to Portugal, to Guimarães 🇵🇹. That same year, Maribor 🇸🇮 also held the title.

Linz 🇦🇹 won the title in 2009, next to Vilnius 🇱🇹 the first winner of the new EU member states.

And in 2010, not only Essen 🇩🇪, not only Pécs 🇭🇺, but also Istanbul 🇹🇷 celebrated culture and tradition with their title that year.
