2025 #art summary! (sort of) 📅

here's a look back on the things i worked on during 2025. thank you to everyone who has joined me for this ride, it's been a lot of fun! cheers to more yippees and yays in 2026 🥺💙
graphic 1/4 of my 2025 wrapped, which summarizes my year as a creative. each graphic is segmented into two "pages." page 1 (left) opens with a note saying, "2025 was a year where i got to try many new things! as a result, i got to learn a lot and gain new experiences... and for that, i'm eternally grateful. here's some of the highlights from this year!" the first highlight showcases three pieces i created while taking kat tsai's color and light class in february and march. column 1, from top to bottom: my room in 4 different lighting conditions, and a 16 panel color script of shades and sydney. column 2 is an illustration of shades and sydney at the barnacle and dime shoe store. there's a speech bubble from my PNGtuber at the bottom which reads: "fun fact about me! i originally wanted to take kat's class at the start of 2024, but i missed the registration period the first time around. i'm glad i took it in 2025 though, since 2024 helped prepare me for it." page 2 (right) showcases my hobby adventures in april and may, as well as my artfight prep in june. the other hobbies section reads: "after kat's class, i wanted to focus on my other hobbies. i edited a few videos... returned to doing weekly streams on twitch... and coded my own portfolio website! i <3 html & css!" this blurb is accompanied by a 2x2 grid featuring screenshots from those projects. the june (artfight prep) section features the references i made for sydney, minatoast, and whiffy the squiffy, my favorite splatoon OCs. it also features two portfolio pieces: a color key of sydney's apartment, and six color keys of yosuke hanamura in 4 different lighting conditions. graphic 2/4 of my 2025 wrapped. page 3 (left) showcases my favorite artfight pieces from july, and three commissions i took in august. the artfight section features my piece of sakimaru in inkopolis square (top left), thehopes in different styles (bottom left), and a poster for cat's souyo splatoon AU, fresh pick (right). the caption reads: "i made a total of 11 attacks during the season! these are my favorites! i really enjoyed getting to practice color and light. i hope next ear's artfight is just as fun! anyways. im happy i made my own format because i feel like it's more reflective of the type of person i am... i am simply a yapper full of hope in their heart and the images only format does not leave me room to express those sentiments that i feel so strongly about... i <3 creating 4ever...

that said it might be nice to do some kind of grid compilation of some kind?! maybe personal favorites from the year? but at the same time it feels kind of disingenuous because it'll be *really* curated to certain times of the year (in my case, stuff from feb, june, july, and sept)

i was originally going to do the 12 month template for my art summary but i realized the format didn't suit the types of things i worked on this year lol... my output and the ratio of my canvases really varied throughout the year so i ended up making what is basically a mini zine instead 😂
