I understand wanting nice things, what I don't understand is folks not wanting nice things for others. Like there's a zero-sum game on the nice things. There isn't. Most of us waste more food per month than folks receive on SNAP. And if it wasn't for an immigrant, none of us would have any food!

It was lit at the estate sale today, holy crap! I made out like a bandit: a Paull's Railroad lantern, Fostoria Coin amber pieces, a bronze Art Nouveau dancing nude, Burple Boopie forest green depression glass set, Late Victorian era purse, and a Deco project lamp of distinction. Several antique items I purchased today from an estate sale on it's second day open. Treasures can still be had on second days. It never fails to amaze me.

Shown is a lamp base, missing all of the electrical components and quite dirty from being in an outdoor garage for 50yrs. It has what looks to be a Grecian hunt scene hand etched around its side. Researching it, I found out that it was etched by the sculptor Wilhelm Hunt Dieterich in the 1930s. The Smithsonian now displays this man's artwork.

The inside was originally painted black, but reverse painting on glass never lasts. Especially with humidity and temperature change. Of the few of them that are currently available, only one still has its paint.

Photo concentrates on a Late Victorian hand beaded purse in great condition, considering its age. The glass beads are the old Czech glass seed beads in a black peacock. It cinches with brass herringbone chain handles.

I was a club kid back in the 90s, man. There's nothing I haven't snorted, smoked, chopped, diced, rolled, dissolved or popped!
Some drugs are fun. Some will ruin your life. It's hard to distinguish.
