We're not supposed to be confident in difference. We are supposed to want to fit in. When we don't, we challenge individual ideas, cultural narratives, political truisms, and companies built around marketing insecurity.

The gender binary and what it's supposed to look like are very strong forced assumptions put upon most of us since day one. Anybody who is trans, disabled, larger than average, etc. will have the same gendered knives stared into them in public spaces for daring to be happy or expressive.

Living as nonbinary has shown me a social truth about people time and time again: many people operate off of vibes given to them through assumptions that they don't own. This applies to a similarly high percentage of people from all diasporas I have come across.

Unfortunately, a lot of it is very engrained in people. Even more radical folks can still operate their social worlds like they are in danger, and social fear tells us to be "normal" and not give much attention to those that aren't. At least that's what has been the case in my life.

Went down the rabbithole of the bsky CEO drama and it's a lot more straightforward than people were saying. I don't think she's a fascist. Just a smug barely-left-of-center person high off endorphins she's getting from her platform's success, fumbling about egotistically. Hope bsky thrives still.

Hey, would you mind if I asked you a thing or two in your DMs? What you posted earlier about recovering from trauma and how nsfw stuff helped you in that regard made me realize you may have insight into those matters and I've been recently conflicted about that stuff myself.
