A few studies of some Mallard's. Love to just watch the ducks float around on very calm waters.
A few practice sketches of a harris hawk wing opening. Feeling a little rusty these days!
Some new sticker designs on the way! And my new obsession into drawing fish too, so hopefully have the combination between the two species in my work :)
Sometimes I do love to draw Dinosaurs! Diabloceratops and babies!
A few quick Robin doodles! Its great seeing them looking very round and asserting their territories for spring!
Wow!! Thats pretty incredible! I know I've seen a few turn up on boats as well looking exhausted!
Lol that is really interesting! I'll have to add that one!
Thanks Tim! I'd love to use lots of spurns stuff for some illustrations!
Thank you so much! That's super!
Does anyone have any cool bird ringing stories for migrating birds? I want to create a little book and some keyrings based on birds that migrate. I remember a story about a Blackbird that travelled to Norway and was 7 years old - I had no idea that they moved so much!
I was out with the birdwatching group today, which was phenomenal! This Kingfisher posed on this bulrush right out in the sun giving us all quite the show!
A couple of quick sketches to warm up! The Crows and Magpies are quite territorial at the moment, fighting for the best nesting sites or protecting their current territory from strangers.
These look gorgeous! Always love the contrast of a Raven and a Leucistic Raven!
Thank you, Julia! I look forward to seeing your beautiful art with Ravens!

I’m immersed in a bunch of new art involving ravens. They have such mysterious anatomy but this guide by @crowartist.bsky.social is the best. Available on their Etsy page. All the books are fabulous.

I want to thank everyone for supporting my work and small art business this year! I wouldn't be able to do my work without you! I have lots planned for next year, hopefully to get everyone in the nature journalling spirit for skill or for mental health as drawing from nature is very healing!
I loved painting the Velvet Scoter so much!
Ah this is perfect!! Definitely, in my opinion, the box shape works so well for birds, especially with big beaks! This looks great!
Yeah, absolutely! They could just ban Temu and Shein instead lol
I saw that it was everything. It all needs labels and your home address as the artist is deemed a "manufacturer" and they need to appoint an "EU responsible person" and add their address to the product as well. As well as origins of paper and risk assessments of it. It's just so much! 😵
From the 13th of December, I will not be able to sell my items to the EU. :( (I will check for digital items)
Absolutely! I don't know any artist that doesn't use references, we all use some sort of starting point. Our memories are good but they aren't that good - mine is terrible!
I get asked a lot if I use reference photos or not. I do most of the time, I take my own pictures and they usually end up blurred - but they can still be worked with!
