Macross Plus is On The List, but I'm actually watching Macross 2 next since I know it explicitly doesn't matter for anything else going forward and in its own pocket universe

So this is an interesting one cause it's not really a COMPILATION movie, but its own thing altogether with similar themes and beats but a different plot and completely different (AND VERY GORGEOUS) animation and everything. Also Hikaru is WAY more likable here.

If anything Minmay might be the character I'm warmest towards in the timeskip episodes

Like sure she's bratty but she also basically hasn't had any control over her own life since being an idol or really any ability to grow up into her own person

Super Dimension Fortress Macross (subbed)

First chunk was some good quality 70s-80s anime with a lot of goofiness and a surprisingly earnest and compelling romance subplot

Second chunk had some neat worldbuilding and character moments but REALLY tried my emotions and my patience sometimes

I forgot to mention another factor which was actually reading MikeZ's declaration where he was like "Oh I couldn't have harassed them cause I have AUTISM, and they KNEW I have autism so they're LYING"

Since MikeZ came up again I'm remembering when seeing a shock YouTuber touting his declaration from his lawsuit against his ex-employees he harassed as "clearing his name" instigated me into spending time and money going through the docket and buying filings so I could hate him more properly.
