Text SIGN PBJNJZ to 50409 — I'm alarmed by Trump's comments about wishing to annex territory from Canada, Greenland and Panama.
Are his rash notions deliberate distractions, fever dreams, or the real plans of a many times bankrupted real estate dealer, felon, and twice impeached president? I have no idea.
No matter the reason: even to float these notions is dangerous. It further discredits the USA's place in the world. Wars of expansion against our neighbors? In violation of international law and treaties? Come again.
Please support HR 1936.
This is the bill to prohibit funds for the Armed Forces to engage in operations to invade or seize territory from Canada, the Republic of Panama, or the self-governing territory of Greenland.
If you want anything Congress now does to take effect, you need to reassert the powers of Congress set out in the Constitution.
As long as you make no meaningful opposition to the president's illegal impounding of congressionally appropriated funds and Musk's illegal firings of federal employees, you are complicit in the overturning of the constitution.
HR 1936 sets a boundary on one aspect Trump's lawless constitution-wrecking destructive mischief.
