Are the little hair like things a type of roots?

Had to do an early morning, unexpected "emergency intervention" today with 2 of my water props. (Sorry, no pics...it was soooo early and yet I was also still running late for work? 😕)
Does anyone else find themselves inspecting plants in the wee hours? Midnight repots/chores while the fam sleeps?

It's winter. Cold and icy storms are hammering so many of us (please stay warm and safe). But I am dreaming of Spring in all its versions--a return to warmth, light, and new growth.
