Let us never forget

when the night
envelops us;

and there are
no stars in the sky;

and no lantern
can be found;

and our path
is shadowed gray;

that we carry the light
in our hearts.

We talk about Jesus’s body being broken for us while sometimes forgetting Mary’s body was broken for him. Divinity entered the world through a Brown, female, refugee body - a body that was vulnerable, stretched, marginalized. –Kat Armas (Liturgies, 2025)

My furbaby really missed our long walk today, and so did I. I'll be glad when temps rise again so that we can have some outdoor quality time.
Dogs aren’t getting much of a walk in the DMV this Sunday evening. Wind chills currently zero to +5 degrees. Gotta bundle up, even if just taking out the garbage!

I'm having the odd, "I wish I had something to write with," moment.

There are times when the notes app on my phone won't do. I need to scribble and draw arrows and jot micro-notes in the margins of other notes.

I do own a tablet and e-pencil but don't carry it consistently.

Kicking myself today.

OMG, Poncho is IMPOSSIBLY adorable. This level of cuteness is nearly inexcusable. Sheesh. 🥹
This is Poncho. He's trying to fix some mistakes on his medical record. Actually does not require any more shots, must have been a typo. 12/10 (TT: veterinariabarranquitas)

While napping today, I dreamt that I was flying around in a luxury helicopter with friends and family to random places where we would solve crimes and party. Why can't I have that life?

This turned out to be one of the most unsuccessful dishes I've ever attempted.

Beef slathered in sugar-free sadness sauce. Punishment in a pan.

But it was fun trying!
I've had some unused sugar free teriyaki in my pantry for eons. I've transformed it into a beef marinade by adding some additional garlic, ginger, grated onion and smoked sesame oil to it. Looking forward to having that for dinner with veggies and brown rice tonight and this week. #mealprep

I enjoyed making dinner tonight: meatloaf, mashed potatoes and lima beans.

And now I wish I had a magic wand for the cleaning phase.

I feel well-rested. Amazing what one solitary additional hour of sleep can do. ❤️

I drove past some children trick-or-treating in their little costumes on my way home from work today. It warmed my heart to know that they're out forming positive core memories that will stay with them forever. I remembered my own Halloweens-past and smiled all the way home. 🎃

I've been feeling a teeny bit under the weather these past few days. Nothing serious; just a touch of a scratchy throat and mild fatigue. Hoping to shake it off soon!

Canceled my Saturday plans so that I could wallow around in bed and read all day. It was totally worth it.

Precisely this. Use with extreme caution or (in worst case scenarios) at your own peril.

AI recommended some journal articles that were impossible to locate. I asked for more details and received a response that said, "Not all of the articles are real." (DIRECT QUOTE.)

Yall, the chatbot lied, became aware of its own lie, and then came right out and told me that it lied.

What a world.

My dog always tries to distract me from housework by bringing me his toys for a play session, and that's just one more reason why he's the bestest, goodest boy ever. 🐾❤️🐾

There's nothing in the world like finally completing a big, important, intimidating, difficult, frustrating task.

Done and done.

Good riddance.

I learned a new term today:

THE GLASS CLIFF - "circumstances in which POC and women are preferentially placed in leadership roles that are associated with an increased risk of negative consequences... They are achieving leadership roles, but in far more precarious circumstances than White men."

😲 I never knew this.
Here’s a primer on ‘primer.’

It’s pronounced ‘PRIMM-er’ if you mean “a small book” or “a short informative piece of writing.”

It’s pronounced ‘PRY-mer’ if you mean “an initial coat of paint.”
