I end every #WebDev unit with a Coding Party! 💻🎉

1️⃣ REBUS puzzles to break the routine. 2️⃣ ★★Code Celebration★★: Students leave 4 positive comments on peer sites via Google Slides. 3️⃣ Games: Gartic Phone or Drawasaurus.

Plus, a 2000s throwback playlist for the vibes! 🎶

I’m leaning into my #FlippedLearning roots to support struggling coders. I record short project starters to give students a nudge without spoiling the solution.

✅ Low tech ✅ Models "thinking out loud" ✅ Perfect resource for absent students

To make room for mistakes in #APCSP, I grade less.

I only grade one assignment a week. For the rest, I provide answer keys so students can self-monitor. This gives me the capacity to give actionable feedback and allow for redos.

Love using Wayground’s Mastery Peak for quick reviews before a unit project! 🏔️✨

Instead of a front of room review, I give our scholars 10 minutes to tackle a bank of 30 review questions. The results? Over 200 questions answered and massive amounts of #RetrievalPractice in no time! 🧠🚀

Had fun starting Web Dev with this prompt: "If you opened up a present, what would you least expect to find?" Unexpectedly common responses: eggs, a house, and a human baby. Found this via the game Loaded Questions. Highly recommend it for engaging prompts to build community and spark connections.

My favorite way to wrap up before holiday break: Unplugged Card Logic. 🃏

No screens, no extra materials, just 10 cards and a series of algorithmic challenges. It's amazing to watch the different ways students try to "crack the code" of the deck! #STEM #TeacherLife #CSed #Unplugged #LogicPuzzles

That's a wrap on #CSEdWeek 2025. We concluded the week with two guest speakers who discussed what Computer Science looks like outside of LaGuardia. They stressed having foundational CS skills will make them better citizens as technology has an increasingly large influence on our world. #CSforAll

On Day 4 of #CSEDWeek, I highlighted my path in computer science. I went from being a college CS major to a high school CS teacher. I also join forces with #kodewithklossy every summer to lead coding camps, encouraging more young people to code. #TeachCS #STEMEducation

To kick off Day 1 of #CSEdWeek, my students got temp code tattoos to show off their CS love!

These tattoos are not only great for community building, but they also encourage hallway conversations about the computer science courses available at our school.
