Some big Android updates happening today! First, Android 16 is getting custom icons! Well, sort of...you can now change the shape of icons and Android will automatically theme icons that don't adhere to the theming rules. Better than nothing, but not the icon pack support we REALLY want! (🧵1/5)

Here it is: the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold! It's basically a Galaxy Z Fold 7 with an extra panel. In fact, most of the specs are the same, including the SD8 Elite, the same triple-lens rear camera, the same charging speeds, etc. Price not disclosed yet, but rumors point to $2,500. Coming Q1 2026!

One of the weird things about not using a case on your phone is mystery dings. One day, you just wake up and find a ding on your aluminum rails. When did it happen? How did it happen? No clue.

If you think AI will eventually alter the very way humans live and thrive, you are woefully mistaken. AI has some cool uses, for sure, but LLM-based AI is only ever going to be refined from here on out. That's why the bubble is going to burst: there's nowhere to go from here but tiny increments.

Many years ago, Google bought Motorola to jump-start the Pixel line. If Google were to do that again, which company would you want to see them buy? Realistic answers only! Google isn't buying Apple or Samsung, obviously.

Google has figured out a way to bring AirDrop to the Pixel 10 series. It works through Quick Share, which is being turned into a standalone app. Google did this WITHOUT Apple's involvement, so who knows how Apple will respond. I can't get it to work yet, but I'll give my notes on it once I have it!

I feel like I've said this before, but I'll say it again: if Thing A does something better than Thing B, that doesn't make Thing B "bad." The RTX 5090 GPU is better than the RTX 4090 — that does not make the 4090 "bad." There is room for nuance when reviewing tech products.

The OnePlus 15 embargo is up. If I don't see every Pixel-hating creator criticize the ridiculous heat this phone makes — so much so that it can't even complete a Wild Life Extreme Stress Test without shutting down — then we'll know that it was never about heat: it was just about hating Pixels.

I am not buying a new car anytime soon, but the number one consideration when I do will be whether or not it has Android Auto. If it doesn't, I will not buy it. Any car manufacturer deciding NOT to include Android Auto (or CarPlay, for that matter!) is making a huge mistake as far as I'm concerned.
