By passing such a transformative statewide residential Parking Reform, Connecticut's leaders are making a clear statement that the #CTHousingCrisis needs to end and they're willing to pass the policy necessary to do so

We're thrilled to see the widespread support from all corners of our state!

For the second time this year, Connecticut has sent the nations most expansive statewide parking minimum reform to Governor Lamont.

This time he's planning to sign it.

Stoked to see Governor Lamont writing national op-ed’s about “modernizing outdated parking mandates.”

None of this would be possible without the knowledge, resources, and advocacy of the @parkingreform.org

Incredible step forward for the state!

🚨🥳🎉 BIG NEWS 🎉🥳🚨

The most ambitious state-level parking reform *in the nation* has once again passed the Connecticut Statehouse and is off to the Governor's desk. What does it do?
🅿️Totally abolishes Parking Mandates for residential projects under 16 homes
🅿️Sets a reasonable cap on PM above 16 units

Our research shows, Connecticut has more parking than it needs. How much? Well you could park 1/2 the state's entire vehicle fleet in the 1.5% of CT's land area that is our most walkable town centers

Rigid rules paved our town centers, we're thrilled to see the proposed return of lost flexibility!!
New CT housing bill cuts requirements in favor of opt-ins
The replacement for HB 5002, which Lamont vetoed in June, uses opt-in measures and incentives for more housing and strikes 'fair share'

You really do love to see it 💪💪Parking reform isn’t just for cities!

Even in very suburban states like Connecticut, parking flexibility makes so much sense
🎉 Congrats to the Chicago suburb of Oak Forest (27,478) for fully abolishing their parking mandates!

Parking Reform controversial? Down right mainstream!

The news of states and communities joining the Paring Reform brigade comes weekly as the reform movement has swept the nation in 2025. Connecticut should remain steadfast during the upcoming special session

Opinion: CT shouldn't lose its opportunity for parking reform
Arguments against parking mandates are so compelling and common sense that municipalities across the country are doing away with them.

🚨The Denver City Council voted 9-3 to abolish minimum parking requirements citywide for all uses. This means more room for homes, small businesses, and people—not empty asphalt. A major step toward a more affordable, sustainable, and people-focused city.
