Non-binary people transcend expected and often times restrictive gender norms. Now more than ever we are exploring what it means to be genderqueer, gender-fluid, gender non-conforming, bi-gender and agender. These are all expressions that fall under the non-binary umbrella.

While it may seem like a new concept, non-binary people have always existed across cultures and societies. One example is the Native identity “Two-Spirit” that has been passed along over centuries of tribal communities: the idea that a person can embody both male & female spirit.

Every year on July 14th, we recognize and celebrate folks who identify as #Nonbinary. These are people who don’t identify exclusively as a man or woman. They may identify as both, neither, or fall somewhere else inside/outside the gender spectrum which is vast and ever-changing.
