milk and honey easily top 3 divine substances ever. i find pgm I. 1-42 genuinely amazing, the concept of the bird's apotheosis, and the alchemical process behind why this substance reemerges the bird into a powerful companion. Some pieces of my notes, sources included!

i'd imagine the opinion of inefficacy in regards to a lack of memorization stem from an entirely too strict reconstructionist lens. i am a reconstructionist myself, but this seems vice grip-y. there are certain traits that are certainly vital, like being declarative, audible, and overall respectful.

highly unspoken of just how vital it is to learn at least SOME ancient greek if you use the PGM, in order to understand it with his full nuance that the translation tends to lack. you can infer ingredients that aren't translated, specific patterns when there is holes in incantations, all of it.
