Delegation Days may be over for #HamOnt Budget 2026, but heads up. Anyone who watched the GIC meeting on January 29 heard it. There may be a motion coming to pause the accelerated Cycling Master Plan. Yes, pause. During a safety and climate crisis.

In light of recent events involving X\Twitter enabling non-consensual sexual deepfakes of women and children, our board decided last night it is time to leave. You can now follow us here and on instagram www.instagram.com/cyclehamilton/ We are here to build safer streets, not normalize harm.

This is our final post in the Vulnerable Road Users Collision Research project.

Every report is a receipt. Safer roads aren’t a vibe, they’re a necessity.

Want to expose what official stats keep missing? Use BikeMaps.org.
Report:
• Cycling collisions
• Near misses
• Hazards
• Bike thefts
January 12, 2026 at 12:01 PM
Unreported collisions = invisible safety problems.

If it doesn’t get reported, it doesn’t get counted.
And if it doesn’t get counted, it doesn’t get fixed.

Collision data is what drives:
• Street redesign
• Bike lane improvements
• Resource allocation
• Accountability

Off the record = unsafe streets.
In Hamilton, most crashes involving people who bike, walk, or use mobility devices never get reported. Not because they don’t matter, but because the system is built for cars, not people.

Our 2025 season might be parked, but the wheels are already spinning for 2026 KidicalMass.

This year, 275 riders showed up across 7 scheduled rides and 4 bonus rides. That is a lot of smiles, bells, and tiny legs doing big things.

In a stunning display of prosecutor and police indifference (at best) to violence perpetrated against people on bikes, the driver that ran our client off the road on Sydenham Hill in May 2024 has escaped any real penalty.

🚨 Bill 60 would BAN new bike lanes that take a lane from cars — province-wide. This is a direct attack on road safety, climate action, and livable cities. Raise your voice. Tell the Ford government: #SafeStreets aren’t optional.
