1st game of 2026: Final Fantasy 4
2nd FF game with a dedicated protagonist, and very dark vibes. Only annoyance gameplay wise was managing 4 airships.
Also, one of my pet peeves of fantasy fiction is the mind control trope which I feel is cheap. Despite that, I enjoyed the story and characters.

1st game of 2026: Final Fantasy 4

The Flan Princess has a 1/64 encounter rate. But since the Pixel Remaster allows you to buy the Siren item, you can trigger these encounters automatically one after another.
After 11 battles, I got a Pink Tail drop. And now I finally have the best armor in Final Fantasy 4, Adamant Armor. 😮💨

I'm enjoying Final Fantasy 4, but annoyed of how many airships you have to manage.
Ideally, you'd have one ship that gets upgraded over time to sail water, fly over lava, etc.
But instead, you get separate ship for each terrain...which means having to keep track of 4 different ships.

Still early in Kingdom Hearts 1, but the vibes I get from Sora, Riku, and Kairi is a similar to Team 7 from Naruto.

Final Fantasy 4 has one of the darkest starts I've seen in a Final Fantasy game, let alone RPG.
The game quite literally starts off with the protagonist Cecil Harvey leading an army and massacring civilians, albeit reluctantly.

Xenogears made me want to learn Japanese and Hebrew.
SIGNALIS makes me want to learn German.
I wish the tech existed where I could input a data chip into my neural interface and be completely fluent in these languages.

6 months ago, I returned to streaming regularly after a break, and started a Resident Evil marathon that night. I wasn't sure if I'd finish before the end of the year or not.
