"We were looking for new opportunities and the opening for live-in volunteers at Cyrenians gave you the chance to work closely with people. Mainly we would just relax and have fun, like you would with a friend or maybe a younger sibling who is struggling."

We have signed Living Rent's open letter to the City of Edinburgh council to demand more be done to stop rogue landlords and protect tenants against dangerous living conditions, illegal evictions and threatening behaviour.

The Bethany Christian Trust Rapid Re-accommodation Welcome Centre at Els House in Gorgie is available to anyone facing street homelessness this winter. It offers food, sleeping facilities and a high level of support to people who do not have any accommodation.

"We had a fabulous time on the course. I'm recovering from a brain haemorrhage and have lost some of my coordination and the course really brought my confidence back. I have made a wonderful Diwali meal for my family for the first time in 2 years.

We welcome the passing of this week's Housing Bill as a significant step forward in addressing Scotland’s housing emergency. But we must be clear: we cannot build our way out of homelessness alone. Housing is fundamental, yet the root causes of homelessness go far deeper.
