Final: Cubs 6, Brewers 0

With a chance to deliver the series, Freddy Peralta became the latest pitcher to crash in the first inning, then the offense of pressure went silent. There will be one chance Saturday to exorcise a lot of playoff demons. It’s Game 5.

Series: 2-2

Man, being the left field umpire and getting a fair/foul home run call wrong is a TOUGH SCENE.

The key cog to the entire pitching plan in Game 5 sure seems like it will be Jacob Misiorowski.

Speaking of Saturday… we’re gonna have to rely on Miz, aren’t we?

How are your Saturday night plans looking?

The sacrifice bunt is the FaceTime call to your wife to panic-ask where the keys are that she doesn't answer, btw.

Milwaukee's offense has to get going or it's going to be too late but it doesn't know where its spouse left the car keys.

Brewers pitching in this series has allowed 11 runs in the 4 first innings of this series. Across the other 26 innings? 2 runs.

Just my opinion, but Brice Turang flailing at anything from a lefty isn’t because of where he’s batting.

Inexplicably altering the lineup after games 1 and 2 like that will do it.

Nevermind.

Matt Boyd is all over the Brewers offense.

Feels like this is the chance for the Brewers. Freddy Peralta has at least put up two straight zeroes. The Cubs' bullpen has been able to play matchup pretty well with them. The second time through against Boyd might be when they need to strike.

The Brewers are 0 for 7 with a runner on base through 3 innings tonight. Matthew Boyd is in carve mode.

4 games. 4 homers. 11 runs.

Brewers starters have gone 0 for 4 on having any semblance of command coming out of the gates this series.

And now Ian Happ hits one to the bleachers.

The Brewers cannot keep the Cubs off the board in the first inning. Disaster for Freddy Peralta.

The Wrigley crowd has started chanting "Fred-dy" before each pitch.

He just walked Kyle Tucker on four pitches.

Let's see if Freddy Peralta can now keep the Cubs scoreless in the first inning for the first time this series.

The manager’s rationale on Christian Yelich leadoff against a lefty starter that it seems many desire:

“He hits more today.”

Yesterday’s media dais Gatorade size v. today’s media dais Gatorade size.

Brewers are 2-0 with the 12 ouncers this series.

Cubs are 1-0 with the 28 ouncer.

The plot thickens.

Playoff ball at Wrigley is an incredible aesthetic, I fear.
Black and white Wrigley Field before Game 3.
cyrthogg.bsky.social
Yes, because MLB will do anything and everything to put that one in primetime.
cyrthogg.bsky.social
Brewers aren’t announcing a starting pitcher for Game 4 yet.

Pat Murphy said he was sure Brandon Lockridge was going to get the bunt down, calling him the team’s best bunter, but also wanted Caleb Durbin to keep going and try to force a play at the plate.

Final: Cubs 4, Brewers 3

The opportunities for a sweep were ample, but a blow-up first inning for Quinn Priester and a bases loaded, no runs opportunity in the eighth prove particularly costly.

Series: Brewers 2, Cubs 1
