Here's one from long ago… back in 1999, you translated "つよさ" from
EB64 as "Strength". 20 years later, the community assumes that it's a cut battle ability that didn't make it into GBA Mother 3, maybe similar to Flint's Brute Force. As it turns out, it actually would be closer translated as "Stats"…

They swapped around Lucas and Flint's names. Boy, I really hope somebody got fired for that blunder.

In the captions for these two, the arrow saying "Flint" is pointing to Lucas, and the arrow saying "Lucas" is pointing to Flint.

Something interesting I didn't touch upon in my new video: The Claymen design that we can see for the 2002 GBA version of Mother 3 is pretty close to the N64 version's design and not like the final GBA one at all (the only 2002 design with this distinction). At least, I think it's interesting…

The Claymen, as they would have appeared in Mother 3 for N64 (EarthBound 64).

I would like to see them focus on Mother 3 again, without specifically just being the N64 version. I'd wanna see another all-encompassing video covering the entire span of development. That said, that is disappointing they didn't get back to you on that. Maybe someday…

I'm gonna keep make videos about Mother 3 of course… but It's still nice to see others make these sorts of videos too. (That said, I did email DYKG a couple of years ago and essentially offered to write them a script for free for a new Mother 3 video. I never got a reply)

I really hope DYKG remakes this video someday. It's filled with lots of false information and since so much about Mother 3's history has been uncovered and better documented in the time since this was made, I think a new video on it would be a huge improvement.

Here's a behind the scenes thing I'd like to highlight from my video I uploaded yesterday: the N64 Leder featured during a mockup screenshot was collaboratively made between Sam the Salmon & Picto. There was only one image of Leder shared during the EB64 days so this recreation is rather impressive!

A promo render for EarthBound 64 from August 1999. In the centre of the image, amongst many other Tazmily villagers, is Leder.

A wireframe traced over Leder by Picto, for the purposes of accurately recreating his model.

The finished N64 Mother 3 Leder model recreation, the head was mostly by Sam, while the rest (including the hammer) was by Picto.

MOTHER 3: Fall of the Pig King for the Nintendo 64 was cancelled 25 years ago today. As a goodbye to the project, a huge discussion between Shigesato Itoi, Shigeru Miyamoto, & Satoru Iwata was released, as well as 24 screenshots from the game and 2 music tracks. #Mother3

Another example of Picross 3D reusing EarthBound 64 concept art can be seen with this map background that has the concept art of the tree cafe placed as a landmark. It is also worth noting that the map has other landmarks that may also be recycled (and undocumented) concept art.

…Flint about the bad news instead of Bronson, Flint being involved in the White Ship story, and the Masked Man fighting to the death in chapter 7. Also a new EB64 fansite popped up very recently and it's very high quality
