A potential (probable?) Zohran win will have a major impact on British politics, as it will mean a major blow against right-leaning, pro-corporate, centrist parties clogging the left, of which Labour is the quintessential example.

İstanbul – DEM Parti Sözcüsü Ayşegül Doğan, CHP İstanbul İl Başkanlığı önündeki polis ablukasına tepki gösterdi. Doğan, sosyal medya hesabından yaptığı açıklamada, “Senelerdir muhalefete yapılan baskılara her gün bir yenisi ekleniyor. Kayyım atamalarıyla halk iradesi yok sayılıyor. Biz bunları tanıyoruz, gayet iyi biliyoruz. Hangi partiye yönelik olursa olsun, bu bir parti meselesi değil, demokrasi meselesidir” ifadelerini kullandı.
CHP İstanbul Gençlik Kolları, saat 23:00’te yönetimi görevden alınan İstanbul İl Başkanlığı binasına çağrı yaptı. Bu çağrının ardından İstanbul Valiliği, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu, Eyüpsultan, Kağıthane, Sarıyer ve Şişli’de 10 Eylül’e kadar basın açıklaması, miting, yürüyüş ve etkinlikleri yasakladı. Polis, İl Başkanlığı’na giden yolları kapatarak çevik kuvvet ekipleriyle ablukayı sürdürdü.
Doğan açıklamasını, “Operasyon, baskı, sindirme, zor kullanma değil; bugün acil ihtiyacımız özgürlük ve demokrasi” sözleriyle tamamladı.
