Oh, and these have solar panels that power lighting all night and, potentially, real-time arrival displays.

Sure beats La Sombrita, and it doesn't have the greenhouse effect that the glass-sided shelters have. It fits well on narrow sidewalks, too. Looking forward to more of these in Nashville.

You're probably right; I just meant that the WalkNBike plan calls for it to be a major bikeway, and NDOT has often used repaving as an opportunity to install new street configurations.

I'm still holding my breath for them to install the prescribed bike lanes on the freshly-repaved McFerrin Ave. A few months is a long time to hold my breath.

If my math is right (there's a high likelihood it's not), that would be 18,648 CMs.

Under-promise, over-deliver. The Brompton is back home after only 6 days at the shop, working as well as she did when she was new!

Had the same idea, except it was taking the folding bike in on the cargo bike. (Was surprised it's a two-week turnaround for a tune-up)

I really enjoy The Wash; six stalls for food & drink business concepts to launch. SS Gai is moving into a bigger space in the neighborhood soon.

In fairness, WeGo simply doesn't have enough vehicles to provide expanded (peak) service, yet. But BNA could still commit to funding expanded WeGo bus service in the near future to supplement #ChooseHowYouMove funds. Not to mention moving the airport bus stop back to a more prominent location.
jerewoo.bsky.social
WeGo does not expect to receive the first round of 12 expansion buses until the spring, so these service changes are all midday/night/weekend improvements that can be achieved within the existing fleet size
Right now, we cannot add any service that requires more peak buses. For example, Route 18 needs at least one more bus on it, but we cannot add that until new buses arrive. Changes that require additional buses will be held for future markups.

Tactical urbanism works: "[NDOT is] also reviewing how to enable some of these tactical urbanism benches that are being placed at various stops to become more permanent." (From a CHYM committee member)

It's never crossed my mind to contact my councilmember asking how to watch a TV show.

I guess they were asking if you could legislate that the local station air a certain show? But that sounds like a free speech problem, too, a government forcing a private TV station to offer a particular show.

The Skinny Dennis folks understand how parking works in a city.
Comment from Skinny Dennis Nashville on this Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/DO6Hoz5keOi . The comment explains that parking in a city is a scarce resource and that drivers should not expect it to be free. Drivers should expect to pay for parking, search farther afield for free parking, or just plan to take some other mode of transport.

How do they know the income of their riders?

I love that @transit.app shows the detours now, and that WeGo sends them the detour routing (even for unplanned detours).

Not enough buses

I don't care of there are bike lanes, I'm not riding on Murfreesboro Pike

In the grand scheme of their major airport renovations, including a complete roadway reconfiguration, it would be mere pocket change for them to put in safe bike routes from the terminal over to McGavock Pk and Thomson Pl. But, they just don't care.
dagopo.bsky.social
They used to have one (and only one) bus with luggage racks, and they ran it on the airport route. I don't know what happened to it; haven't seen it in awhile.

My understanding is that the law (the SP ordinance) required that developer to install the 9th ave bikeway, but didn't require NDOT to keep it.
dagopo.bsky.social
Not to mention the time savings for the buses and their drivers. That means WeGo will be able to run more trips with the same number of drivers and buses.

My parents, ever frugal, kept a container labeled "for soup" in the freezer. Whatever leftover veggies and meat they had (within reason) went in there. When it was full ... soup was on the menu.
