got dragged out to the movies today and cried so hard at said movie but at least i had the corner recliner

(also i took the pics during intermission, that’s just a trailer and obv it wouldn’t be all lit up during the movie).

now i want my nani-ma’s gajar halwa 😭 might make it tomorrow or this weekend—altho the carrot i prefer it made with is smth that’s not easily found in the state i live in (nor is it the season for it yet).

oh i love carrot halwa. my grandma makes it and sends it with my mom whenever my mom visits her lol. and yes we do have the lighter chickpea as well, people call it chana too but in my house/community we call that chhole to be able to differentiate (tho there is confusion sometimes here too).

haha i think a good chunk of the population has these plates and the blue cups brought by relatives from US in the 90s/early 2000s. also i hope u get more halwa soon!

so there are a small stack of puris (a sort of fried flat bread), a bowl of black chana (brown chickpea), and a bowl of suji halwa (a kind of sweet dish made from semolina). we usually eat this around this time of the year for the festivals of dussehra/durga puja/navratri.

i have either genuinely forgotten how to write or i’ve lost the sauce idk what it is but i just can’t seem to and i have deadlines coming up and it’s making me wanna drop out of everything even tho the story is so strong in my HEAD
