I spend a lot of time treating this account like a journal, so you'll see a lot of complaining when life gets rough.

If you just want to see art, I'll be cross-posting things to @daimerart.bsky.social in much the same way I curate artslush.tumblr.com
Where Artsy Brainslush Stuff Goes To Die
I frequently draw body horror, and occasionally gore. This is your final warning. Asks should be...

Sometimes there's truly nothing that can be done. 😔

Watching the Slow Mo Guys glitter episode at 144p is something else
I'm not even going to try describing this mess. Ditto.

Found this while checking on something, and laughed because that makes my name sound like a font.

It's hard to explain how I curate my online space. I'm strict when it comes to even mild mental irritants... but I also feel bad for implying that someone is irritating when there's nothing wrong with them.

You don't blame flowers if you have a pollen allergy. Just don't keep one on your desk.
daimera.bsky.social
Certain very specific flavors of impulsive personal oversharing and/or flakiness don't sit well with my internet diet, especially when it's 90% of the posts I see from some people. I'd mute them, but still visit manually to check for works I'd enjoy, only to get bombarded with stuff I was avoiding.

Clipping some follows between main and alts, and just in case anyone who got clipped even notices, it's mostly a 'me' thing in regards to the kinds of text posts people make.

I'd rather unfollow and still see relevant posts in the tags, than follow someone for 'community' reasons only to mute them.

Thank you! Though... ugh, I did come back home and look from my laptop and it is SO washed out, I'm so sad about that.

One of my greatest beefs with technology; inconsistent screen color profiling.

I do tend to trust my phone more, though... since more and more people use them for social media.

Orange to purple without an intermediate red is an underrated sunset gradient (and will probably desaturate when posted)
daimera.bsky.social
This looks great on my phone but will probably look like ass on my desktop later.

Taking a walk to grab something to eat. Been as while since I got a nice sunset.

I'm definitely still considering getting it a larger pot, but ceramic pots any larger than what it has get pricey, would be difficult to transport home, and I can't even begin to imagine the difficulty of doing the actual transfer.

I think that's a good thing; it's still growing but I don't need to worry about it getting too tall (it's still slightly taller than me, but only until that last big leaf on top drops; it's the healthiest leaf from the old growth, though).
Close-up of the top, showing that the apical meristem has died and dried up. The secondary branches below it, however, are growing well. Lower down, showing some more secondary growth, especially one node which has its original leaf, two healthy secondary branches, and one dead one. Lower down yet, showing some of the secondary branches on nodes that have lost their original leaf. Many of the new secondary branches have smaller leave, but they are the correct rounded leaf shape, rather than the 'dinosaur footprint' leaves that were originally growing.

Haven't updated on the jackfruit in a while.

It's been... hanging in there. It's lost a lot of leaves, and definitively cut off it's own vertical growth in favor of putting out horizontal growth in the form of axillary branches where the leaves fell off.
Full shot of the plant. The bottom third no longer has leaves, though the shadows hide he fact that most of it is beginning to harden into bark. A few nodes near the top have no leaves or stems, though the top still has some large leaves. A couple leaf-less nodes have begun to grow axillary branches, while small axilary branches are starting to pop up wherever there are still leaves present. Closer, more top-down view of the plant. Top-down view of the plant.

Watching the #SnakeDiscovery livestream and actually cryign at Sharon shoving her boyfriend Rafiki out of the corner while he was asleep live on camera so she could get under the light.
Sharon - a sulcata tortoise - with a camera on her back, wandering the Snake Discovery zoo. After getting lost in the back room of the store for a while, she found her way back to her enclosure, tired. She enters the enclosure. Her 'boyfriend', a leopard tortoise named Rafiki, is sitting in the corner under the heat lamps. She rudely shoves him out of the way, her front foot firmly in his face. She pushed him out of the corner completely to hog the light. Tortoise equivalent of couch banishment.

What a great way to end the video, heh heh. Hope you decide to play more!

ngl, Boneless Bear's a pretty peak miniboss in Ratatan. Tied with Chillwarden for fav enemy currently in the build, tho there were two desert-stage biggies spoiled on the devblog who I *can't wait* to see implemented.

Kinda wish they'd move here, I ain't linking to TwX, so I'll just screencap it:
Boneless Bear (BonBon) is a patchwork teddy bear with eclectic patterned fabric, though its 'ears' also look like frog eyes, while there is framing around its face that looks like a toothy mouth. Its face is split in half by a zipper; one half is blank with a red and orange checkerboard pattern, the other is purple with a stitched mouth and a swirling red button eye.

It is suspended in the air with several colorful balloons, and holding five knives that it is prepared to throw downwards. BonBon unzips its face and a black liquid miasma with a single red eye oozes out, forming two gigantic, dripping clawed arms. BonBon's death animation; black ooze explodes from its head, red eye wide open in shock. A TwX post from the Ratatan team discussing some desert-stage enemies.

While the post focuses on Kit Lasso (a character who is already in the game as a mid-boss, much like Boneless Bear), there are other small humanoids on the sheet, including a mini-boss style "Eagle" , and a similar "Yamaarashi (Porcupine/Hedgehog)", neither of whom appear to be implemented yet.

There are also three much larger 'monster' style minibosses that are not yet implemented; a lanky humanoid cactus named "Saguaro Slim", an ivory-scaled humanoid snake (with arms and legs!) with no name aside the label "Hebi/Snake Gunman", and a very topheavy black scorpion 'humanoid' (with a two-tier body and red highlights), similarly labeled "Sasori/Scorpion Gunman".

All of them are wearing Western/Cowboy regalia of varying complexity.

Ahhh, gotcha, thanks! I'm not on the Discord and have no intention of joining (active public servers give me mega anxiety), so that explains that.

Dang that lettering could use some darker outlines on that bg tho, haha.
daimera.bsky.social
Ooh, nice interpretation of the iconic game over!

Second person I've seen doing this without linking the prompt list, and I've tried searching to no avail. Not that I'm gonna do it, but I'm curious, is it a Discord thing or what?

(When I look at the bios of people Acting Like That and see "19" or "20", I have to remind myself that I'm nearly twice their age. It... makes me feel like maybe I shouldn't be in fandom spaces at all, save it's the only way my lonely ADHD hyperfixating ass can handle existing in this fuckass time)
daimera.bsky.social
Maybe I'm just too old to enjoy louder social media fandom spaces.

Being self-aware obnoxious about interests isn't wrong or bad; I KNOW I was the same way when I was the same age as a lot of the people I see doing it now.

But 'everyone in one big room' style socials make it more... cacophonous.
daimera.bsky.social
Which, again, not everybody dislikes! Some people enjoy that kind of environment. Just... not me.

If someone's gonna obsess over something, I'd rather they shared more information/work about the THING they're obsessing over, than just gushing about how much they wish others would feed it to them.
daimera.bsky.social
Not to mention I actually love seeing overly-excited, downright unhinged comments as REPLIES to shared works. Wouldn't want to mute that.

But as constant standalone/original posts? idk. Reads as "My obsession with the subject is more important than discussing the subject itself, reward me for it."
